Question: Can i use my guitar from guitar hero 3 with the beatles rock band? ps3?

Hi, I have guitar hero 3 for the ps3 and im thinking about buying the beatles rock band. Would my guitar work with it and do I need to buy the whole package for beatles rock band e.g microphone and drums. Is it possible to just use the guitar for it as I will only play on it by myself? Also is it possible for me to buy guitar hero 5 without having to get a new guitar? Thanks for your help

All guitars from guitar hero will work on rockband also you can buy guitar heor 5 on its own online.
